Pultruded Fiberglass Window Facts

Stronger and harder than most wood

Pultruded fiberglass windows are stronger and longer lasting than wood windows. Even with high quality factory finishes or aluminum cladding, most wood windows will degrade over time especially in areas with high humidity. Fiberglass is impervious to moisture, extreme heat, cold or acidic conditions.

Dimensionally stable

Because the fiberglass sash and frame composites are essentially the same as the glazing unit, the window retains dimensional stability throughout extreme temperature variables. Vinyl and aluminum windows can suffer massive air leaks under extreme cold conditions.

Environmentally friendly

According to the EPA, pultruded fiberglass is truly environmentally friendly based on product longevity, embodied energy, limited use of resources and low pollution levels emitted during the manufacturing process.

Superior thermal performance

Pultruded fiberglass, because of its low thermal conductivity and stability in extreme weather conditions, is a better insulator than vinyl, aluminum and even wood. Pultruded fiberglass windows remain rigid and stable in all weather conditions unlike vinyl which can expand up to seven times more than the glazing unit.

Long-term investment

Pultruded fiberglass is stronger and harder than wood or vinyl and has been referred to as ‘The lumber of the future' and ‘The best material for windows and doors' by industry sources. Fiberglass won't rot, peel or warp, is impermeable to moisture and will not degrade over time. The factory applied finish can be repainted as required providing design flexibility, inside and out.
